Da Nembro (Bg) uno studio sull’epidemia: “I morti sono almeno 4 volte il numero ufficiale”

Bergamo, 26 mar – Che qualcosa non torni nelle statistiche riguardanti i dati ufficiali del coronavirus – con particolare riguardo alle province lombarde più colpite, una su tutte Bergamo – è ormai acclarato. La politica del “tampone solo se si finisce al pronto soccorso con sintomatologia grave” ha causato una sottostima dei casi positivi (asintomatici inclusi), che ora vengono stimati fino a dieci volte il numero degli infetti accertati. Non solo: sono sempre di più i sindaci dei comuni orobici che denunciano un anomalo aumento dei decessi ben al di fuori delle statistiche del coronavirus se confrontate con le morti nello stesso arco temporale di un anno prima. Segno che, in tutta probabilità, anche le cifre relative alle vittime del Covid-19 sono sottostimate – e di parecchio.

Un nuovo studio a Nembro

E’ ciò che hanno cercato di spiegare Claudio Cancelli, sindaco di Nembro, il comune bergamasco più colpito dal Covid-19 in rapporto alla popolazione, e Luca Foresti, amministratore delegato del centro medico Sant’Agostino. Entrambi fisici, sono intervenuti sul Corriere illustrando i dati di uno studio da loro compiuto sul territorio che confermerebbe l’ipotesi della sottostima.

Deviazioni anomale dalla media

I due spiegano che a Nembro “non sappiamo esattamente quante persone siano state contagiate, ma sappiamo che il numero dei morti ufficialmente attribuiti al Covid-19 è 31“. Osservando la media dei morti nel comune degli anni precedenti, nel periodo gennaio – marzo, Nembro avrebbe dovuto avere una media circa 35 decessi, mentre quest’anno gli uffici comunali ne hanno registrati 158 – cioè 123 in più della media annuale, e “Non 31 in più, come avrebbe dovuto essere stando ai numeri ufficiali dell’epidemia di coronavirus”.

La differenza con la media annuale in condizioni normali è abissale, e non è riconducibile ad alcun fenomeno di devianza statistica dalla media demografica, la quale presenta sempre una certa “costanza” con flessioni o aumenti minimi nel corso degli anni. Il discorso cambia solo in presenza di fenomeni “anomali” che determinano un’aumento esponenziale dei decessi – e quest’anno, il fenomeno anomalo è sotto gli occhi di tutti: l’epidemia di coronavirus. In questo caso, spiegano i fisici, “il numero di decessi anomali rispetto alla media che Nembro ha registrato nel periodo di tempo preso in considerazione (121) è pari a 4 volte quelli ufficialmente attribuiti al Covid-19 (31)”. 

Difficile pensare che il boom dei decessi non sia legato al contagio, dal momento che il periodo del picco dei 121 morti corrisponde a quello delle morti ufficiali da Covid-19. “Nell’ipotesi — niente affatto remota — che tutti i cittadini di Nembro” la cui popolazione si attesta sugli 11.600 abitanti “abbiano preso il virus (con moltissimi asintomatici, quindi), 158 decessi equivarrebbe a un tasso di letalità dell’1%“. Che sarebbe il tasso di natalità della nave da crociera Diamond Princess, un modello isolato e pressoché perfetto per lo studio dell’andamento del contagio.

Nembro: verso l’immunità di gregge?

È quindi “estremamente ragionevole pensare che queste morti in eccesso siano in larga parte persone anziane o fragili che muoiono a casa o in strutture residenziali”, senza avere avuto la possibilità di sottoporsi al tampone o di essere ricoverate in ospedale. “Dato il calo che si è visto negli ultimi giorni dopo il picco è probabile che a Nembro si stia raggiungendo l’immunità di gregge”, spiegano.

Studi su altre città

Gli autori proseguono affermando di avere condotto le medesime osservazioni a “Cernusco sul Naviglio (Mi) e Pesaro utilizzando esattamente la stessa metodologia. A Cernusco il numero di decessi anomali è pari a 6,1 volte quelli ufficialmente attribuiti al Covid-19, anche a Pesaro 6,1 volte. Impressionanti i dati di Bergamo, in cui il rapporto arriva addirittura a 10,4″.

Conclusioni

Sulla base di questi calcoli, quindi, si può dedurre che se in Italia tutti venissero contagiati dal Covid-19 le morti si attesterebbero intorno al numero di 600 mila. I numeri di Nembro e delle altre città ci mostrano che i decessi ufficiali vanno moltiplicati almeno per 4 per avere un’idea del reale impatto dell’epidemia. I due fisici suggeriscono quindi di prendere in considerazione i dati dei singoli comuni con almeno dieci decessi per coronavirus e verificare le anomalie rispetto alla media degli anni precedenti, come fatto nel caso dei comuni presi ad esempio, per stimare il numero reale dei contagiati e quello dei decessi.  “Il nostro timore è che non solo il numero dei contagiati sia largamente sottostimato a causa del basso numero di tamponi e test che vengono fatti e quindi della «sparizione» degli asintomatici dalla statistica, ma che lo sia anche — dati dei Comuni alla mano — quello dei morti”.
